Sunset Shapers


Sunset Shapers is a surfboard manufacturing center in the San Francisco Bay Area. We build custom surfboards from start to finish and offer lessons, advice and materials to other local manufacturers and hobbyists.


Opened in September 2010, Sunset Shapers features handcrafted works from local board builders from SF, HMB, and Santa Cruz. Some of the featured surfboard labels are Las Olas Surfboards and Tim Gras (from SF), Steve Iverson (HMB), and Steve Coletta, Buck Noé, Doug Haut, and Nick Palandroni of Source and GP surfboards (all from SC). Sunset Shapers also carries shop apparel, locally made jewelry and surfing accessories like fins, leashes, pads, wax ect. How many hours are you putting on a board to start to finish? It really depends. It can vary from about 6 to 60. Something But then you do the wrong boards with glass on things, and resin panels, and off and polish, and color, and all that stuff. Those are far more. . . Is the color going with the glass? Yeah.
