The kufic calligraphy, is one of the most beautifully known Arabic calligraphy. It is believed to have started with the initiation of Islam, but it could have begun 100 years earlier, in the city of Alkufa in Iraq. It has different types and shapes, one of them being the Square Kufi, which is the subject of our page "Hakikufi".
