Those small businesses are the lifeblood of many communities and they often do what they can to support others around them. Well, the owners of one small business say they are constantly trying to find new t Downtown Mevin is busy these days. It's one of the fastest growing small towns in the state. Fueled not only by big outlet malls, but by small independent shops too. And we don't really have customers. Everybody who walks through the door, they're family. The GoGirl shop is a small locally owned store filled with colorful, fun, comfortable style. Much of it made pretty close to home. What's unique about Mevin too is we have a lot of locals who will then discover North Carolina products that they didn't even know was made in North Carolina. But we also have a lot of tourists and people coming in and moving here and they're wanting to find North Carolina products that they can make gift baskets out of. Megan Wagner and her husband spend their time sourcing products from all over. But the important t My mother is actually on her way right now to go get another 8,000 pounds because we make sure that they're picked from the farms fresh for our customers. The Wagner's had a shop in Durham for a n They moved to Mevin about two years ago featuring gifts, home decor, clot They know that surviving the tough times and thriving in the good times means finding a way for businesses to work together. But it's really about community and more people can experience it and then it also brings more people down here to downtown Mevin to go and visit all the other really unique shops and restaurants as well.
