from Puget Sound's most famous market. Sits another public hub that's a little slower paced, but just as important. The Port Orchard Public Market is relatively new to downtown. Well, the market's about five and a half years old. It's restaurant, juice shop, and odds and ends aren't as flashy as flying fish. Sue's Fresh Juice Bar and Sandwich Shop, and then Masa Pizza, which is a wood-fired pizza. We have Leanna's Art and Coffee, which actually just opened today. We also have another business over here called Sue'sewing and Embroidery Shop. Yet the workers are committed, and the customers are loyal. Welcome all customers. I have a great line of canines who come in for their weekly carrots. Downtown Port Orchard used to be a thriving hub. I've watched it decay a little bit. The market hasn't always been a sure thing. The restaurant was struggling a little bit, and my husband and I did not want to see the restaurant close. Persistence, luck, and community kept it going. We believe in this town, and we have a lot of friends and networks and business colleagues. Now it's ready to thrive. These last two vendor spaces are going to be filled. Big plans are not too far off for Port Orchard. We'll have a community event center at this end of town that'll open up the whole beach and have shoreline access. And the market.
