Welcome to another Office Hours. Today's question, how do I create rounded or beveled edges in corners in SketchUp? This is a super common roadblock that trips up SketchUp users of all skill levels, and that's because SketchUp's native tools fall short for this kind of design element. You could make the push-pull or follow-me tools work in certain situations, but they're not designed with this specific task in mind. So what's the solution? You may not be rounding or beveling the corners and edges in your SketchUp model, but you should be. These little details, especially when you're presenting your final designs as finished renderings, can make a subtle but big difference, and it doesn't have to be a painstaking or difficult part of the modeling process. In fact, with just a few clicks, you can round any edges you need, even complex corners and intersections. How? By installing and using a SketchUp extension called Frito Corner. To use it, you'll actually need to download and install two extensions from SketchUcation. com, the LibFrito6 extension, which is required to run all the extensions by the same developer, and then the Frito Corner extension itself. If you need to help downloading and installing extensions, we've got a video that covers that, and I've put a link to it in the cards. Once you've got the extensions installed, I recommend experimenting in a new file before j The user interface can be a little confusing, so it's best to play around and get a feel for the tools and settings before j All in all, it's a fairly straightforward extension to learn, though, once you've got the hang of it. Simply select the edges, faces, or object where you need rounded or beveled corners and edges, then adjust the parameters in the Frito Corner extension window. Click to run the tool, and you're done. Pretty cool, right? Frito Corner is one of the extensions I recommend all of the time. What are some of the other ones you ask? Well, check out this playlist to find out, or if you've got a specific problem and you're looking for some guidance, head over to the Sketch Up School website, send us a message, and we'd be happy to help you out. I've added a link for where to do that in the cards. Got a question you want me to answer in a future office hours? Let me know in the comments below. And if you don't want to miss recommendations And what are the other cool kids saying? Oh, right. Smash it. Until next time, happy sketching. So, guys, what's happening? I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday. Fill out those TPS.
