Ojai Olive Oil is a family owned and operated farm that makes some of the world's very best extra virgin olive oils. We also carry amazing imported balsamic vinegars, a line of food-grade olive oil based cosmetics, carved olive wood items, and a host of related accessories. You can find our products at select local retailers in southern California, on our website, at the Ojai Sunday Farmers Market, and at our farm's Tasting Room. Our Olive Mill and Tasting Room is open to the public for free tastings and shopping seven days a week, from 10am-4pm. We give free guided Tours & Tastings every Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday from 1pm - 4pm. No reservations are required, and all tours are free. Our tours average about 30-45 minutes, and cover all kinds of useful and fun information about olive oil, organic farming, cooking, and more. Private group tours may also be booked in advance, for any day and time.
Well, they say you plant an olive grove for your grandchildren. It's a slow growing tree that takes a while to mature, and it's young until it's 50 years old. It's really after they hit a century that they hit their stride, and then they'll produce great fruit for literally thousands of years. Agriculture is partially about the relationship one has to the land, to the plants, and I think the more we interact with them, the more rewarding it is for us, and I think that also reflects the quality of what we're providing. But being a smaller operation and having more attention to the quality of what we do as opposed to just the quantity of it, here everything's done by hand, and I think that has a huge impact in the product, and also it's important to us.
