I'm the founder and co-owner of Sweat Records in Little Haiti in Miami, Florida. I always loved record stores. Even from a young age I would go in and look through everyt I always wanted Miami to sort of have t Indie record shops are part of the souls of communities in a way that corporate chains just cannot be. When I worked in a corporate store our music buyers were in a different city on a different coast and they didn't know what people here listened to. Record stores do a lot more for their community in general than just sell t For instance we partner with lots of other local organizations.
