I made my daughter into a racist. My daughter is almost three. I'm w She has very t I've spent a ton of time researc I've bought products, learned to braid and brush it properly, and have taught myself a ton of cute hairstyles that are suitable for her hair type. I thought I'done a good job. I joined a mom's group last year where I met a friend. We'll call her Stacey. Stacey's daughter is only a few months older than mine and are great friends, so we've gotten to know each other quite well. Now that I look back, I remember noticing her giving me odd looks when I talk about my daughter's hair. She'definitely given an odd look to my daughter, showing up with certain hairstyles that I didn't I took my daughter over to Stacey's for a play date the other day. I tried out a new hairstyle with these four pigtails at the front that I braided and fed into two pigtails on each side of her head. Partway through the play date, Stacey took me into the other room and scolded me. She said I had no right to appropriate black culture by styling my daughter's hair Not only was I racist, but my daughter was being racist for wearing her hair I was too shocked to answer and just quietly apologized. I just don't understand what I did wrong. My daughter's hair is the way it is and needs to be cared for a certain way. Does wanting to do my daughter's hair right really make us both racist?
