Motorcycle / ATV / Automotive / Off Road / Racing filters for anything.
Kyle Bradz, I'm Brad from Sapphire Outdoor Sports, here with Tom from Uni Air Filters. Now Tom, why do vehicles need air filters? Need air filters to keep that dirt out of our engines, keep them running, performing at the highest level, keep our compression and rings working well and make it so we can go riding all weekend. So if you have an air filter that's not doing its job and allowing larger particles then should be going into that air intake, what happens? That news, get dirt into your piston ring, cylinders get scored, dirt into the oil, hurt the crankshaft, bearings in there so you don't want that, that's going to get very expensive and we've got to keep that air cleaner working. Now Uni Air Filters are made right here in California, here in the USA. What goes into a Uni Air Filter? The finest foam you can use is polyurethane reticulated foam, our polyurethane material, we do the molding here for the foam filters that need that, some are foam only for the motocross bikes, some of the side by side filters are So make model specific applications? Yes, definitely. Okay, perfect. Now as far as these come, they come un-oiled. That is correct. You need to go ahead and service them before you put them in your vehicle and what does that service look The service is just simply using the oil, the spray oil and then we also have the cleaner so you spray the oil all over the filter, inside and out, you want to oil completely and saturate all the foam material and then when you're dirty and want to clean it, spray the cleaner on, let it soak, rinse it out, let it dry and then re-oil the element and you'll be ready to go again. Perfect. Now is there multiple densities of foam, so the outside foam different than the inside foam? Yes, there is. Yes, the inside foam we use is the yellow foam. It's 65 pores per inch, that's much finer than the outer foam. This is 40 pores per inch so it's larger to hold the bigger particles and then the fine stuff on the inside. Now how would this compare to a paper filter? Paper filter is a surface filter so it's thin. Once it starts getting dirty, it stops flowing air there where the dirt particles are. This is a depth filter so you have this depth so all the dirt tries to get through all the nooks and crannies and gets stuck in those nooks and crannies but still has airflow ways to get through there. So this would definitely perform better than a paper or a gauze filter? Yes, most definitely. Now what would make this different than some of the other foam filters on the market? This like I said is the premi Okay, what's the lifespan of one of these filters? Lifespan is 5 to 7 years. Okay. Yeah, you'll get all that use over all those years. Pretty much. So anytime you go to do any maintenance on your bike, pull this thing out, clean it, recharge it with oil and you'ready to roll for 5 to 7 years. That's a pretty good deal. Yeah, right, right. So for a paper filter you're going to buy 5, 10 filters a year depending on how often you go riding so that's going to add up to There you go, Uni filters. If you're looking for a high performance, great quality made here in the USA in California specifically, Uni filters are a product you should probably take a look at. So no matter what you're riding, whether it be a motorcycle, an ATV, a dirt bike, a side by side, they've got over 10,000 fitments. So it's your model specific so make sure you get the correct filter for your vehicle and then you will have awesome performance. Thank you, Tom. Appreciate it. Thank you. Alright, thanks for coming by.
