Since 1990 Deck Medic has stained over 10,000 decks. We have taken that experience and developed a restoration process that leads the industry. Many companies have copied some of our steps but no one matches our combination of thoroughness and professional product lines.
We've been around for over 30 years. We go into a new market and nobody asks how long we've been in Atlanta or Charlotte, Chattanooga. They just see that we've been around in business since 1990 and that means something to them, the stability, the experience. They're looking for that in any kind of service company. Basically, we are an outdoor wood restoration company. We restore, we protect all types of outdoor wood surfaces. The majority of our work is decks. We also do fences, gazebos, pergolas, play sets, log cabins, arbors. What we really specialize in is our five-step process. We apply a stripper, we strip the deck down without using pressure, without using power. Let it dry for a couple of days and then we also sand the decks and then we apply our proprietary oil-based semi-transparent stain. Our stain is made just for us. A lot of stains that are out in today's market, you can't reseal it. Basically, meaning you have to strip it back down, remove all the coatings on it and then stain it. With our process, you're able to give it a light wash and restain it and go right over the top and you can do that year after year. So that saves the customer money. One issue every one of our franchise owners has is they never get all their work done. They get to struggle to get it all done or try to because you don't want to carry over to the spring because you're always overbooked in the springtime. Most of our work is referral or repeat business. One of the things that we don't have to do a lot of marketing because once we get everything going, every job tends to replace itself with a neighbor or a family member. I would say 90% of our franchises do not complete the work for that season and it has to carry over into the next. Especially with people staying home today, they want their backyards looking incredible. They want to be able to go out on their deck, not seeing paint peeling, not seeing it faded. So repeat work for us. We have customers since I've started since over 20 years ago. It's not just the fact that DeckMedic has been around since 1990. We've got over 30 years of experience.
