in the water. With thousands expected to hit the roads and water this Labor Day weekend, troopers are stepping up their presence. From highways to lakes and beaches, it's all a part of a statewide push to keep people safe. We see a lot of individuals getting out. They're trying to make that last trip to the beach. They're trying to make that last trip to the lake. You'll still see a lot of troopers on our major right of ways. We've got, With football season in full swing and holiday celebrations underway, troopers say this time of year comes with increased risk. They're urging people to make smart choices before the celebration starts and after it ends. It's zero tolerance. It's been zero tolerance and it's going to continue to be zero tolerance. We know college football is king in the state of Alabama. We're aware of that. But we will have individuals that are out patrolling looking for people that may be celebrating a little too much. And down on the Gulf Coast, Aliyah is adding an extra layer of protection taking to the skies with a special rescue swimmer detail. The operation is designed to reach swimmers in distress even in areas without lifeguards. We have the Aliyah Aviation Unit that partners with Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. So they're going to go be out this weekend again doing the patrol flights, deploying the rescue swimmers. Again, just trying to have that holistic view of safety.
