I'm Arash, this is Dave. We're here at Fairwinds Brewing Company in Morton, Virginia, and I'm here joined with founder Casey Jones and brand ambassador Mike Heikendall. We're here to promote our event this Friday, starting at 5pm. It's a Fairwinds Can Release party at Dominion Wine and Beer. Dave? Yeah, so Fairwinds just put two beers into cans for the first time, set them out into the market, which I'm sure is very exciting for Yeah, great question, Dave. The first is one of them, the Hallingale IPA Wine, best IPA in Northern Virginia. So we're excited about that. It's a great West Coast style for those that really enjoy that. In addition to that, we wanted a beer that had a different ABV profile and was easier to approach for those that aren't necessarily hotpads, and that gives us the key side colch. So no matter where you are on pallet, we hopefully have an offering that allows you to be introduced to Fairwinds and allow us to be part of your events. For your viewers, I don't know, Casey's actually a customer, used to be a customer at Dominion Wine and Beer. I mean, you've got plenty of beer now. I still come by. I was there the other night. Casey's from Fall Church. Your head brewer was also a brewer at Matt Fox. These guys are local. Casey, why did you start a brewery? You're about a year old. You started in 2015. You took that j Why? Yeah, it gets to the being local part that you talked about. Being right down from your store, seeing crap beer exploding, I was really b And so we thought, This is a vibrant county. There'so much going on. Why can't we have our own local beer? And so we set out to fill that void. Charlie joined me and we've been excited to open the doors in 2015. Well, I'm glad Dominion Wine and Beer had a little something to do. So, Mike, you're the brain ambassador for the brewery here. How did you get started with the company? Well, it's actually, I'm probably the newest employee for Fairwind. And Casey is former Coast Guard. I'm former Navy. And while I was overseas, I kind of got involved in beer because I got to try a lot of foreign beers in my different styles. When I came back, obviously, Crafter was there for me. When I got out of the military, I used the GI Bill to get a degree in marketing and got a few sales jobs. And then I noticed the, yeah, it's, And I noticed, And so then I saw the job posting that Casey put up and I shot him an email and, And I think we have a lot of similar mindsets. I also have a theory that Casey brought me on board so I can explain that all the nautical terms in our beers are actually real words and you're not making them up. Okay. So, but, and it's been great, And in this area, we have such a high vol And it's great to, I'm really happy that you took advantage of the GI Bill. I know it's not easy to do. So You want a gold medal, the GABF? Absolutely. So that's our sirens lure, which is a hoppy saison. Six months after we opened our door, we managed to be awarded the gold medal for the Belgian French saison category at the Great American Beer Festival. That's awesome. It was awesome. We did backflips because Charlie is an amazing brewer. The team that supports him, Max and Jill are amazing as well. To get that kind of accolade, six months out of the gate was not only exciting, but really helpful. We just drove from Falls Church. It really took about 10 minutes on right on 495 with no traffic. Come visit them. The Taft House is beautiful. Come tour the facilities. Come check out an awesome, veteran-owned company. So to reiterate, we're having the can release this Friday, August 12th at the Mini Widen Beer. Starting at five, we're going to have four other beers on Taft, including this delicious saison. Thank you so much. Cheers to Cheers. Drink local. Oh yeah. Thank you.
