My name is Michelle Burzak. I am the farm coordinator at the Veggie Patch at Bushard Farms. I'm also serving as the farm manager. We are an organic produce farm. We've been in operation for about six years. The farm has about 300 acres of land and we farm on 30 acres of them. We have one large commercial greenhouse, which is where we are right now. We have seven small greenhouses. We grow hundreds of varieties of vegetables all year round. We grow everything from spinach to salad, tomatoes, pretty much everything but potatoes and garlic. We also grow ginger and turmeric and lemongrass and other exotic vegetables. Everything that we do is organic. We're certified USDA organic, meaning we don't use any chemicals and we grow everything naturally indoors and outdoors. This is where we grow our turnips. There's about one acre here. We direct seed the turnip seeds, which means we put the seeds right into the ground. We grow the turnips with clover. The clover will help put nutrients back into the soil and prevent weeds. In this field, we're growing turnips, a type of kale called Siberian kale and clover. They grow all winter long. We planted these last year and we'll keep harvesting them till the end of spring. Hope you enjoyed the turnips.
