ProduceRun is a new way to fund produce coming into town. We’re home for everything from the farm. ProduceRun is full of deals, big and small, that are brought to life through the direct support of local community. Each campaign on ProduceRun is independently created. The producers you see on ProduceRun have complete control over and responsibility for their produce. ProduceRun is a platform and a resource; we’re not involved in the development of the produce. Anyone can launch their own campaign, as long as it meets our guidelines. Producers create a funding goal and deadline. If end consumers like the product, they can pledge money to make the ProduceRun happen. Funding on ProduceRun is all-or-nothing, produce must reach their tipping point to receive any products. Backing a ProduceRun is more than just giving someone money. You are developing relationships with the farmer who grow the food and contribute to local farm viability. Our mission at ProduceRun is to help farmers sell their produce directly to end consumers. We’re a company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We spend our time making ProduceRun a little bit better everyday, answering farmer and consumer enquiries and finding more producers to upload. If produce are succesfully funded, we apply 10% fee to the funds that is collected. Local farmers who sell direct to end consumers cut out the middleman and get full retail price for their food- which means farm families can afford to stay on the farm, doing the work they love.

Grocery stores stock hundreds of dollars of fruits and vegetables but how are these items kept fresh? Well, I think one of the most important things are making sure your employees are very well trained in rotation. Rotation is probably the single most important thing as far as what you can do to keep the produce fresh. Making for bad product and make sure that product doesn't stay on the shelf. There are also other things that produce managers do on a daily basis. Another way is to, what we do here is to mist our vegetables which extends the shelf life by, considerably by quite a few days. It helps the vegetables, especially the fresh vegetables here stay crisp and fresh. There is also a few vegetables that are waxed. That helps them stay fresher for a longer period of time. But there is a negative point about waxing. You have to peel that stuff off before you eat it. Mohammed Najafion, UTVS News.
