Paradise Wine

So hello, I'm here at Chateau de lagune having a fantastic dinner and enjoying incredible generosity from the Chateau. I spoke to Caroline Frey earlier for an article that will appear in WineSearcher. com and over dinner with Martina we're having some absolutely delicious wines. I did a vertical of Lagune and I just love 2004 Lagune. I think the 2004 is somewhat forgotten because it came after that very hot s But 2004 is a classic vintage. The Bordeaux Lait were already doing selection in the vineyard and green harvesting and all what have you, it made itself perfect and right now for drinking it'so smooth and delicious and fresh, I love it. If you find yourself a Lagune 2004, don't hesitate. But things got actually better, believe it or not, with a magnificent bottle of Hermitage from Jaboulay, 1978 La Chapelle. 1978 is a very great vintage and what really impressed me most, well not most but what impressed me partly was just looking at the back there's a proof of provenance because we're living in an age of counterfeit bottles. So there's a nice label saying that this, since it was made until June 2013, which is now, this was in the cellars of Jaboulay. So it's a side note but the Frey family owns Jaboulay and Lagune so that's why we're having Jaboulay. And this is a 1978 La Chapelle. It is absolutely stunning, it has a beautiful nose, sort of aniseed, reglice, there's First there's kind of this asphalt thing going but that blew away and it just got so beautiful. And in the palette the attack is supple and yet powerful and pronounced and you have some red fruit that's like the pit of a cherry or even the pit of a pl Just I mean I'm excited with this 1978 so we're having a great time here at Lagune and any time you go to Bordeaux come visit.
