He's teaming up with the Red Cross to send holiday cards to our servicemen and women. He joins us live now from Commins Ground's coffee shop this morning to show us how you can help too. Hey Dan. Hey, it's a great program. Nice to see you by the way. First off, happy Veterans Day to all those who have served and perhaps those who are going to serve in years coming up. Cody and I, hats off. Thank you very much. Appreciate that. And listen, what a great way for you to say thank you and it's not going to cost you a penny. I Those are good economics. Trickle down. I don't know what that is. Mary Hastings, nice to see you with American Red Cross here in Denver. Tell us how this program works. We got How did things start? Well, holiday mail for heroes was started six years ago and designed to send cards to people in Veterans hospitals, overseas to different military installations. Over, Just to bring cheer, a little holiday cheer to our troops when they can't be near family and oftentimes they're wounded, some of our wounded warriors. We're all comfortable, happy and safe. And sometimes when you're overseas, just to have something tangible, not so much an email or an e-card or your sentence, you're Skyping somebody, which is good too. But sometimes when you send a troop, a card they can hold on to, they can stick in their helmet, they can stick in their pack or wherever they're staying, just to have something tangible as a lot of meaning. Absolutely. And if people go to our website, www. redcross. org, we actually have some YouTube videos that show some of our troops opening cards and how much they mean to them. And they really get a kick out of the ones that children do. Sometimes scout troops will get together and send cards. For this particular program this year, the deadline to get them out is December 7th. So A day which will not live infamy, not this December 7th. Not this December 7th. And also if people can't get to a card signing event, which again you can find those listed on our website, they can go to our website, again www. redcross. org, slash holiday mail. We're going to link that to www. ktvr. com so that we don't have to memorize that right now. Absolutely. The deadline is December 7th. And it doesn't cost anybody a penny. And the Red Cross will get them sent out. They'll take care of that completely. Guys, we're going toss it back to you. I think it's a good program. We're going to be here all morning. Maybe hang out, maybe even do a story on this, and maybe even air tonight. KTVR. com and the 5 o'clock show. Who knows if we're lucky, right, Cody? If we're lucky. Great story on this Veterans Day, Dan. Thank you. All right. Well, he's almost as famous as the player.
