There is new hope for women who were told they could never get pregnant. A local clinic is offering groundbreaking fertility procedures you won't find anywhere else. Ten News reporter Jennifer Day-Lecruz uncovers how they're creating miracle babies. For 48-year-old Cherie Friesch, this Carmel Valley clinic is giving her hope. This just gives you a little help and a boost towards that goal. Already a mother of four and a grandmother of eight, but she wants one more. It's the best thing. This will make it nice that he'll have somebody to look out for and play with. She came all the way from Iowa for ovarian rejuvenation in Carmel Valley. Gen 5 fertility helps women increase their chances of getting pregnant through platelet-rich plasma or PRP. They're the only ones in the country who use this non-invasive method. Dr. Samuel Wood is making it happen, and most of his patients are over the age of 42. In most cases, these patients have gone to other fertility centers and been told, you have no chance. We won't work with you. But Dr. Wood will. He isolates platelets from the blood and then injects them back into the ovaries. It recruits stem cells that can then turn into eggs. We actually dramatically increase the chance that they will have a normal embryo. And when you put a normal embryo in, then the chance of success is extremely high, 80-90%. The rest of their life is different. It'so important what fertility specialists do. For Cherie, it's been a year-long process. Especially with my age, this is a delicate procedure, and I didn't want to be a guinea pig. I just keep smiling and thinking, it's going to be worth it.
