Casa De Chocolates specializes in everything chocolate and desserts. We draw our inspiration from traditional desserts, candies and images of Mexico, Central America and South America; where the story of chocolate began. Our goal is to bring together these origins and flavors with the modern world of chocolate. All of our delicious desserts contain the freshest (local and organic when possible) and highest quality ingredients that are traditional to Latin American kitchens; we invite you to experience these wonderful flavors and amazing cultures through our chocolates and desserts.
Music Casa de Chocolates is a celebration of Latin American culture through chocolate. What we wanted to do is just remind people that Cacao came from Mesoamerica and so that was the message in our vision, in our inspiration, and in the design of the store and our chocolates. I'd Music We just wanted to incorporate casa, home, house, warmth and of chocolate. Music We thought, well what is the gift that we could give, right? What is the history that we could give and the experience that we could give? And that was creating this flavor profile that is about Latin American flavors. When we start working with the bonbons, we airbrush to make the designs as we do with the chipotle caramel and then we create the shell and that is just melting the chocolate and then we do the filling, whichever flavor that it is. Each one has a wonderful story that is about an experience, that is about a dish, it's about taking people home. Music One of our most popular bonbons is our mole bombon. It is a combination of 11 different chilies and spices. It is just so flavorful without having it be too spicy. The other one that is very popular is the tequila bonbon because of course who doesn't love tequila? We mix that with the chocolate so a lot of people think that it's going to be It's very smooth, it has a nice kick of tequila so it's not very overwhelming at all. That one we've made in the shape of a butterfly and that is to celebrate the monarchs that travel from California to Michoacan, Mexico. We just loved it and we thought we needed to carry it because it also is a story of migration. We also have our tapatillo that has a Mayan design on it as well. So we have some flavors that have those molds with those pre-Col Music Research has taught us that the cacao bean originated in Latin America. We're talking about thousands of years ago. When you walk in you will find a metate which is the original way that they used to grind chocolate. That is my great-grandmothers and I just really find it fascinating to share with people the origins and I try to do that in an easy way which is through your palate. Being Latina myself from Oaxaca, I was And it's fun to share it with the world. Anyone that walks in the door that is willing to hear it, I'm happy to share the story. Music
