Patio life we know spring has sprung and the sun is shining and we might feel like so let's enjoy right now. How about taking your meal outside during the good conditions? We're continuing our patio weather series at a Mesa restaurant this morning that offers some great food and a great sense of community. Just what you love in a spot. So Kim is live on location at Worth Takeaway. I gotta tell you this is some pretty perfect weather to do breakfast or brunch al fresco. We are in downtown Mesa on Main Street. There's about 15 to 20 restaurants that are tucked away in this beautiful downtown. One of them is worth takeaway. Now they have to change their restaurant up a little bit to accommodate customers because of the pandemic and their restaurant is relatively small. So joining me this morning is owner Kelsey. How are you? I am fantastic. So Tell us a little bit about that. Yeah, originally the city had worked with us to put the original patio here with the raised planters in this space. And then after the start of the pandemic they were really great about working with us for additional extension of premise and working with our neighboring businesses and landlords to be able to expand our patio so that we could maintain the level of seating that we had pre pandemic. Financially, how were you able to do that? Actually, there is a state grant that came out that were able to use to be able to help expand and have the finances to be able to go beyond where we originally were at. Okay, so What do you serve up at Worth Takeaway? Yeah, we have breakfast, lunch and dinner. So right now we are just opening and so we have some breakfast items out here. For example, our breakfast burrito and our croque madame or a couple of breakfast items. Our most popular menu item is the crispy chicken right here. It has a little bit of mayo, house made sweet and spicy pickles, some crispy chicken on it, honey sriracha sauce, bib lettuce and it comes on a little bit of a fluffy ciabatta from City Bakery. And then these are our house made chips to go along with it. And you do coffees, teas. Yep, yep, we've got Maya's tea here and then provisioned cold brew latte right there. We do specials throughout the week. So if you check out our Instagram and our Facebook, we always promote what the new rotating specials are going to be there. And Tell us about that. Yeah, yeah, we have a fresh shipment of bouquets coming in this morning. We do them all the time, but we do kind of All right, worth takeaway. One of the gems here in downtown Mesa patio. Perfect. Once it does start getting a little on the warm side, they open up they are looking at adding some sort of misting system to this patio. Because we know it does get hot in the desert guys. I'll send it back to you. Yeah, that's not breaking news for sure. Thanks, Kim.
