In 1762, John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich®, invented the meal that changed dining forever. As the story goes, he was playing cards and did not want to leave the gaming table to eat. He asked for a serving of roast beef to be placed between two slices of bread so he could eat with his hands. Thus, the Sandwich was born.
The start of construction for the new Portos Bakery at downtown Disney in Anaheim has been delayed once again. That means the Earl of Sandwich restaurant currently in the spot Portos will take over will be open longer. Employees there were recently told the closure of their location would be pushed back at least a month. Earl of Sandwich will actually be moving into a new spot at the west end of downtown Disney in the winter. It's not exactly clear why construction of Portos has been delayed.
