Athens Bagel Company has been around since April 2012, but features of the 19th century building, like reclaimed tin ceiling tiles and heart pine accents, can still be seen in our shop. We’re the only New York-style bagel bakery downtown, and being part of the Classic City is something we pride ourselves on. We don’t just keep all the mouthwatering bagels to ourselves either – Athens Bagels are not only sold in store but also at local coffee shops and on the UGA campus. Our bagels are kettle-boiled and baked fresh daily. Then they’re topped with homemade cream cheeses or served as breakfast and lunch sandwiches. We have you covered whether you need freshly made to go orders, deliveries, or catered events.
Athens Bagel Company continued to have a steady stream of customers this morning making business look promising. We waited for over three years for Bagel shop to open and no one did it so we decided to do it. Others must have also wanted a Bagel shop downtown because the owner said little was done to advertise for the opening. We're just hoping it's going to be a slow grow and hopefully the Bagel will speak for itself and the people will come in. Located on North Jackson Street the shop provides an environment to read, study and of course meet with your friends.
