Bridgeman's Ice Cream

Chester and Roy Bridgman began the original Bridgman's Ice Cream Shop in Duluth, Minnesota in 1936. Today, decades later, we are very proud to continue their sweet legacy in the Midwest. Our mission at Bridgman's Ice Cream is to continue doing what we've always been known for, which is bringing people together. We want to create an opportunity for high-quality memories while enjoying our extra-quality ice cream. Everybody wants to tell us about their first job at Bridgman's, or that's where they met their spouse. And getting to share in those memories with them is something that's really important to me. Everybody has a Bridgman'story. I remember my dad used to take us on Sunday afternoon drives. And so there were seven of us in the car, and I can remember listening to twins baseball games, and then going to Bridgman's for a cone after her. Just great family memories. This is everything that we want. It's local, it's premi I love Bridgman ice cream, all the different flavors. I thought, well, how cool would it be to serve Bridgman ice cream in my bakery? Since we sell cake, cake and ice cream is a real natural. So one of the first things we noticed was people starting to buy hand-packed pints and quarts to go with the cakes that they would purchase. And we sold more bakery, and we sold more ice cream. As a result, it was a win-win. So owning Bridgman's is so much more than just running a business to me. It has really provided us with a platform to give back to a community that we love so much. As a former teacher, I've always had a passion for education, and becoming a business owner didn't change that. Ever since day one, it was important to use our business to do good, which is why we have dedicated ourselves to help support families through education. We not only want to work with our local schools to achieve this in our own community, but we have partnered with a local nonprofit called Common Hope to give ourselves a global reach by helping students and family in Guatemala. So not only are we a family-owned business, but we're a certified woman-owned business, and we Bridgman's was an opportunity that I never dreamed of pursuing. I'm so proud of what we've accomplished in the last seven years, and I'm even more excited for what is yet to come. We're in the business of selling food, but we're in the business of selling fun, and that's what Bridgman Ice Cream is. I'm very grateful to be able to work with my sister and my cousin on a daily basis, but not only that, to work with my kids, and to create a business that will last for generations to come.
