My name is Yian Tan and I am the writer and director of the new feature film Pitstop. I'm currently seeking funding for the production of my film, w You're about to see a clip that I put together that will give you a really good idea on what Pitstop is about. I'm Yian Tan and I'm the writer and director of Pitstop. In 2008, I made a film called Chow that was released theatrically and it also screened at festivals around the world. Pitstop was a screenplay that I wrote before Chow and it was accepted into the LFES Screenwriting Lab in 2009. At the lab, I was mentored by a talented group of writers and directors and my passion for the project was revived. Pitstop was also recently awarded a $7,000 grant from Austin Film Society's Texas Filmmakers Production Fund. T Pitstop is a feature-length drama that tells the parallel stories of two gay men in a small town in Texas. There's Gabe, a construction foreman who has recently ended an affair with a married man as he finds solace in the relations And then there'sinesto, a factory worker in the midst of splitting up with It's a film that deeply explores the dynamics of romantic relations It's also about how the transient nature of relations These themes are conveyed through the kind of characters that are very underrepresented in cinema. Gabe and Ernesto are working-class gay men who don't live in urban areas. Yet, their plight and their struggles in finding and losing love are incredibly universal. The films that inspire me as a filmmaker are ones that speak to my soul. They're the kind of films that are not made just to entertain us, but they compel us to look deep wit Pitstop is a film that has that intent.
