Free Coffee and Cake every Satuday
Greetings, everyone! It's been a while since we had a little chat. I figured it was time for an update. If you're new here, interesting video to start with, but welcome! I'm glad you're here. A lot of cool stuff is about to happen. So, where have I been? Every time I upload, I get a bunch of comments You remembered the password! No, I didn't. Google did. Fair enough. The upload schedule has definitely slipped these last few years, especially this year. So, why? Well, earlier this year, about seven months ago, we had our fourth child. There's a Jim Gaffigan bit when he had four or five children. And he said, if you want to know what it's And yeah, that's pretty accurate. So, add on top of that. I got a full-time job. It's more than 40 hours, more than full-time. And I'm not 20 years old anymore. Or 30 years old anymore. And energy just ain'there. And the upload schedule slipped considerably. But, here's the good news. I'm ramping things back up in a big way. I got an editor, finally. Hired an editor. He did the last video you saw, the Maker Coin one. And he's working on the next one right now. Hopefully, with his help, I'll be able to get the schedule rolling a bit faster and not rushed. I'm not rushing the videos out. I want the videos to be Speaking of videos, Well, I finally fixed that problem. I started a new channel. All the printer stuff will be over there. The channel is called Paul's Printer Projects. I'll put a link in the description. I'll put a link down below in the comments. The printer stuff's going to go over there. But basically, if the final product involves melting metal, it's on this channel, Paul's Garage. If it involves melting just plastic, it's on Paul's Printer Projects. That's not always melting, but you get the point. Now, the question a lot of you keep asking, yes, the gingery lathe videos are still coming. The project did not die. It just got put on a back burner with literally everything else. But it is still happening. I got the next video half recorded already, scraping in the carriage. I'm trying to make sure that series is But it is coming. Spoilers, there's a lot of scraping of the carriage and I start rambling. And I get kind of nostalgic. That project started almost eight years ago, And the current reboot is all new designs and all new castings and stuff. But a lot of the people I talked to back then are still around. He didn't go anywhere. He just pulled home. And while I was scraping, I also started talking about Warped Legacy, one of the first friends I made on this channel. He's not doing YouTube videos anymore. He actually makes soap now, soap and beard oil. It's really cool stuff. This is not sponsored, by the way. He has no idea I'm saying this. I just think he's a cool guy. He's a good guy and he makes some good stuff. So if Link spam. Link spam in the comments. All right. Moving forward, my new goal on this channel is simple. It's to help you learn to make stuff. Whatever you can imagine in your home workshop or maker space or wherever you do your thing. Mostly metal, obviously. But maybe eventually I'll get back to But for now, I'm just going to focus on metal stuff, at least on this channel. If you want to support me doing this, there is a Patreon down below. But honestly, if you want to get started making stuff with metal in your own shop, there's a link down below to a sand casting guide, tips and tricks and stuff, everything you need. And yes, there's a full sand casting course also. There's a Black Friday sale that's going on until the end of the month. And if you make it to the end of the email chain, if you sign up for that guide, there's a coupon code at the end there that stacks on top of that. And that's actually better than Patreon, because then I get to help you directly, which is kind of the point. In the new year, I'll be adding investment casting to the course as well. Half the people who email me really should be doing that instead. More on that soon after I completely revamped the sand casting course. I may split those up in the future because they are fairly different. But if you get in now, you'll just get both l I will inevitably grow that even more. If only we had a thousand years to live. Maybe I can help speed some of that up for some of you. At least accelerate you through the years that it took me to do it. The fastest student in there to go from beginner to a successful sand casting took two weeks. Two weeks, not years. And it looked pretty good. It took me Years. Years. I just checked. I started this channel Honestly, as a distraction during a very stressful time in my life, some of which hasn't exactly ended. If you've been around since those early days, I know a lot of you have. Thank you truly for sticking around. If you're new here, welcome. I am optimistic for the future. And a little exhausted, to be honest. But I think some cool stuff is coming. And Intend to be here for it. And I hope you will as well. I would Sound fun?
