Paradise Cycles

One Stop Shop for All Motorsports

Paradise Cycles is an inclusive “one-stop shop” for all motorsports (street, strip and dirt). This includes everything from routine service, body / paint, customized graphics, and racing setups, as well as limited work on water sport equipment. Paradise Cycles is an Authorized / Certified Service Center for all major motorcycle manufacturers with a total of 35 years experience in the shop. Paradise Cycles retains exclusive vendor relations with companies such as AMSOIL, PPG Paint, APE Race Parts, Falicon Crankshafts, Millenium Technologies, TaylorMade Racing Inc. We also continue to maintain affiliations with several local motorcycle and water sport dealers. History: In 2003, Travis Teachey decided to take his passion for motorcycles and establish Paradise Cycles. The birth of Paradise Cycles was in the back of a store-front, barely big enough to hold 5 motorcycles. Travis’ dream was to create a shop that was superior, and offer services that are not normally found under one roof. For Paradise Cycles to grow and reach its potential, the business relocated to nearby Nicholasville, KY. After only 18 months, Paradise Cycles quickly outgrew this facility, forcing yet another move. Paradise Cycles returned to Lexington, to a 2100 square foot shop with 2 hydraulic lifts, paint booth, and enough space to house 30 bikes. With the growth of the company, Paradise Cycles has already added staff, and continues to grow.

Hi, I'm Louis. I'm one of the founders of Paradise Cycles. We are an independent bike workshop on Roman Road in Bethel Green, East London. We're going to be doing a Tuesday about business. So we started Paradise Cycles about three or four years ago. It's quite a difficult thing to get going in a bike workshop because it takes a lot of tools and experience and stock and money to do that sort of thing in London. It's the sheer amount of energy that it takes to run a new business. The shop is open for 12 hours a day and we're open seven days a week. So it's a lot of man hours, a lot of contact time bikes with cyclists, which is great. We fix bikes mainly, but we also build custom builds, some bikes as well. We tend to use a mixture of vintage and new parts in everything that we do, whether we'repairing or whether we're building, because we feel it gives people a lot of options. I'd really recommend starting a business. It's really, really good fun. It's really enjoyable doing something for yourself, really enjoyable being your own boss and deciding what you want to achieve and how far you want to push yourself and others. There are obviously tough times where you're worried about where the next paycheck is going to come from. When your pay is off 800 quid a month, you're going to be in central London, you have to be prepared to put in there for it. So as long as you're committed, it's definitely something that you can do yourself.
