What's up everybody Doug, Big Kid Power Sports and today we're gonna school you noobs in helmets. Alright when shopping for a helmet you gotta kind of have an idea of what you're gonna use the helmet for, what kind of riding you're gonna be into. Alright so there's a couple different categories of helmets out there for whatever kind of riding that you're after. Let'start off with the half helmets. The easy-seek a lot with street bike guys, T Okay just covers the top half of your head. DOT approved w DOT is kind of the base level. It should be DOT approved. Most of them are. So you got a half helmet and then after that you're gonna have a three-quarter helmet which is kind of So it's gonna be a little more protection than the half helmet. Not quite as much as the open-face motocross style helmet. And three-quarter helmets you'll see again a lot of ATV guys ride those, a lot of street bike guys use those, So that brings us to the open-face helmet motocross style. That's what that is right there. A lot of snow guys are using those too. Typically you wear that helmet with some goggles, you're good to go. Then we've got full-face helmets. Again, motorcycle guys, sport bikes, a lot of snowmobile guys use these, just a super basic full face. Obviously it covers your full face, that's what that's all about. So t And snowmobile guys and motorcycle guys too. T So t Modular, meaning the whole front of the helmet pops open So you see a lot of guys, snowmobiles, a lot of motorcycle guys that wear that. And then you've got some newer style helmets coming out. The motocross style with a little mix of full face. You got a little lens in there. So this is a little, this is like a hybrid dual sport, But t So Then you've got, that's kind of your base level. Then you've got ECE and Snell. Snell is But you gotta want to make sure that it's covered in the right dates and everyt That's a little more in depth. But So there's a ton of different brands out there. A ton of different styles. But those are your basic categories. Your half helmet, your three-quarter helmet, your full face helmet, your open face helmet, and then your modulars. So a lot of those can be used in snowmobile. They can be used on the street. Typically, they're all motorcycle helmets. You'll see the snow helmets have heated visors, heated windscreens on them, and breath boxes, w So it's not fogging up all the time. But yeah, now you got the full rundown on helmets. So next, you got to go try them on. Because you can measure them all day. You measure them right across the top of your brow, all the way across. Every make has a different sizing chart. So just get a good measurements of your head. Get out there, try them on, and go from there.
