Tune ups and little maintenance things and trying to teach people how to do that. They're known as the bike doctors, volunteering their time to help cyclists with needed repairs. The men say their passion for tinkering is priceless so they work for free. Ever since I was young I used to work on bikes. My neighbor, she had a bike and I tore it apart when I was about eight and then I managed to put it back together with a few extra parts. They're part of the organization Bike Peoria, setting up shop at the market to help out friends whose wheels might need some mechanical medicine. It just sits in the garage or Part of their mission is to spread awareness about bikers. They're spinning their wheels, trying to come up with ways to enhance cycling in the river city. It's kind of on edge because there's nowhere for you to go and cars don't necessarily pay attention to you so they're Hoping others will be able to get the same satisfaction from the exercise, wind on their face and a ride that's good for the environment. I know I didn't have to waste a bunch of gasoline and fossil fuels and put a bunch of carbon oxide in the air because that's what it comes on to for me.
