At The Doctor's Office Motorcycle Restoration, we believe in honesty sets us apart from other repair facilities. Dealerships seem to only want your money and will turn away bike they deem "too hard" to work on. Most local dealerships will turn away anything that is 1998 or older. This leaves bike owners a few options: 1. Try the repair work themselves. This can become costly in both time and money if the proper tools, techniques, and knowledge are not applied correctly. This can also be dangerous to themselves or others if not completed properly. 2. Ignore the issue till it becomes a much larger, more expensive repair that demands attention. Again, this can be expensive and most often times VERY dangerous. Ignoring that oil change, rattle noise, or low tire can result in serious down time. 3. Try taking it to a "shade tree" mechanic. This might be a friend or co worker who owned a bike once and tinkered on it years ago, but lacks the proper equipment or knowledge for a modern bike. This may also be someone he found online who promises to be the cheapest in town, beware! Remember your safety is at risk here, so be picky! 4. Just ignore the bike altogether. Don't laugh we see it happen quite a lot. Letting a machine sit for extended periods of time can also create more problems. Batteries fail after a certain amount of time without regular charging, fuel begins to break down after 3 weeks or so, and worse yet, gaskets and seals begin to dry out from lack of lubrication...this can cause premature leaks when they do finally get the bike up and running. 5. Take it to a reputable shop. A reputable shop will offer references, have reviews available, proper equipment, and most importantly the knowledge to complete a job correctly. These shops will also have a reputation for honesty. No one likes a liar, especially us. Does our company know it all? NO! However we do know where to find the answers when we don't know.
