Smith Cycles

A FULL SERVICE MOTORCYCLE SHOP SPECLIALIZING HARLEY DAVIDSON AND METRIC

Paul Smith is a designer brand but what are they doing with cycling here? If you didn't know Paul Smith is an avid cyclist himself and so it's no surprise that he has his own cycling department now. Today I'm going to be reviewing the Paul Smith jersey range and there's a lot of quirks and features that you get from these jerseys that you don't from all other brands. This is my newest one normally from Paul Smith that you get The bag however does have turtles on it so it's actually kind of a cool bag. So this jersey I saw it in the store and this is my latest one I had to get it. Let me know in the comments below which Paul Smith jersey you would The bag is really cool I just need to choose something to do with it now. The Zyner helmet cover. Let's talk about the fit first. So this is a size medi It is a tight fit and Paul Smith do state on the website that it is a race fit jersey. The fit is the same on this jersey as it is with my other two as well so it's the same across the range it's the same cut. When I'm going fast in these jerseys I find out there's no areas where the jersey flaps at all in the wind so I think that's a testament to a good cut that fits my body shape. The band at the bottom here is fairly tight so I found with this and the other two jerseys that when you're riding for a while it actually starts to ride up a little bit on the back. It's not really something that you ever notice but it just starts to ride up a little bit just because that band is tight around the bottom here. To maintain a good fit around the edges there's this really soft material that you can see as the colors here so they're not they'really stretchy they're not tight at all but as you can see it hugs the body really well on both the sleeves and the neck as well. I've also found out on hot days all of the material whilst being comfortable is also very breathable so on these short sleeve jerseys it's more of a light material on the front and then the material is more perforated on the sides and the back to allow more sweat to move out of the jersey. On the long sleeve however it is the same material all the way around the jersey with a fleeced liner. The fleece on the long sleeve isn't a heavy fleece so I'd say it's more for versatile days where you could be getting sunshine a bit of cloud cover where you don't know what the temperature is going to be it could be going up and down. With that we can move on to the function of the jersey. To begin with As the jersey has a more race fit it is designed for faster cycling to help you be more aerodynamic on the bike. As well as excellent functionality of course this is a designer brand so that main purpose is to look good or have some style to them and I think the Pulse Smith jerseys achieve this very well. The combination of style and color really helps them to stand out over other normal jerseys that you find. Now we can get on to the pockets and this is where we can start to see some of the quirky features on the Pulse Smith jerseys. All the pockets come with the standard three pocket design and they all have the same features here. They're all big enough to hold my big iPhone 13 and they are banded at the top to help hold things in better. There is a zip pocket on the right side which is water-resistant and I generally put my keys in here for safety so I'm confident that I'm not going to lose my house keys when I leave the house. The zip pocket itself though is not big enough for a phone. All of the pockets are a perfect height for using on the bike itself they're not too high they're not too low they hold things in really well and they're easy to access so well thought out and well designed. Now we can finally move on to the quirky details of these jerseys. The rabbit is a symbol for good luck for Pulse Smith and that's why it's featured on some of his jerseys. However it is not found on all of his jerseys just some of them. One thing I really love is the hidden pocket colors so each individual pocket has its own color and each of the colors change for every jersey that you buy. The Pulse Smith cycling logo is also different to his normal logo so on the front here we have his standard Pulse Smith logo and on the back we have the Pulse Smith cycling logo. Most of the jerseys too come with the Pulse Smith stripes so each jersey has a slightly different stripe this one has much thinner but more colors whereas some of the other ones have the more block colors on them and speaking of the block colors all of the jerseys come with a small band a reflective band as well with the block colors at the bottom of the pockets and I think that's a really tasteful way to add some color to your reflective safety of the jersey. Inside all of the jerseys there's a little bit of fabric that is signed by Pulse Smith. Nothing crazy but it's just a small little extra feature that you do not find on other jerseys. One final feature is that a lot of the jerseys are made using recycled fabrics which just helps you feel a bit more confident that this is not destroying the planet making these jerseys. For my final conclusion these are a beautifully designed well thought out jersey. They are easily some of my favorite s They fit really well, they're aerodynamically designed, they're very breathable, soft and comfortable to wear as well. As you can probably tell I'm a little bit biased towards these jerseys but you just don't find such colorful jerseys done so tastefully I find. I hope you've enjoyed having a deeper dive into some of the quirks of these jerseys with me. If you have any questions feel free to put them down in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them. Also let me know which jersey you Thank you so much for watching, this has been Cycling Unboxed, I look forward to seeing you in the next one.
