Cafe racers and custom parts
Okay, quick update. My Bobber kit just arrived from BBRC Engineering indiana, which is the shop that was modifying my rear suspension to give it the mono shock suspension look. So just open the box. So let's take a look. I'm pretty excited about this. This is going to be cool. There you go. One seat. Looks Finally, the rear trailing arm. That's it. Let'start with the obvious thing, the modified trailing arm. So it looks He's got these brackets on the trailing arm. They're pretty heavy steel, bolted on, and the mono shock is going to go into there. So let's restart this. This is the rear mono shock, and as you can see, it mounts Okay, and this is the obviously very custom DBCR Engineering seat and rear suspension bracket. So it would mount a little something And I have to say, I'm impressed so far with the craftsmanship here. Very heavy DBCR, but also very light. You can see that it's engraved here. Tail lights are integrated. It looks The final piece. One round seat. It's going to look really good with the red. As you can see, I picked a red spring. He also had available, I believe, black and silver. And then in terms of seats, he also had a black seat available. And I want to say on the website there's a white seat, but I'm not sure there's a for sale anymore. So as you can see, it's mounts in the back And it's cool. That's going to look really cool. All right, that's awesome. Now I'm really excited about this. This is going to be really cool. All right, so here's how this is going to work. Give you a little better illustration. Rear suspensions here. The bracket, the seat bracket is designed to fit right up in here somewhere. And there's actually some measurements and instructions I can get online. And drill two holes to mount this. You can see where the spring would line up in there. And what I'll be doing is removing this whole section to make room for this and this minimized suspension. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. It's a 3D weekend for me. So I'm going to spend a little time this weekend putting together a video on modifying the frame and getting it ready for paint. If there's time, I will definitely paint it and start the assembly process. So be on the lookout for that video. And one last final takeaway, and that is on working with BBCR Engineering. If you want to go this route, I highly recommend it. It's a cool look. The quality of work is really good. And I just expect there to be a little bit of delay in terms of time. So all right, I'll see you this weekend. And I am definitely looking forward to this next step. See ya.
