So having an oversized inch and an eighth midsection eliminates the need for the crossbar without sacrificing any of the strength from the actual handlebar itself. Now this creates more flex to the bar so it's going to absorb a lot more impact in rough terrain and it's also going to decrease fatigue to the rider. Now what's really nice about this is that it does taper down to a 7 eighths inch at the end of the bar so it still mounts up to your standard OEM controls. The reason why the contours are ProTaper's go to handlebars is because for one, they're an affordable way to get an oversized bar on your bike and they're made from 2000 series T6 al Now I have the two newest colors here on the table, the anodized blue and the anodized red and there's also multiple colors available and you can find them at www. shapmodo. com. Now another great thing about ProTaper is that they chemically apply all of their graphics and stickers to add to the durability and its resistant against scratching. Now you do have an alignment grid in the center so that you can align the bars properly and cut off marks on the ends so that you get proper measurements on both sides if you're looking to shorten them up. You do get the bar end caps to eliminate the elements from going inside of the bar and it's going to preserve your grips. You have the knurled left side to adhere to the grip much better and you do get the bar pad included when you purchase the bar.
