This is a Honda Grom of 2014. This is a Kawasaki Z125 of 2025. I bought the Z125 new, the Grom used. The first thing I would But there are some subjective differences, fundamental differences that I think they really distinguish and make me really want to choose one or the other. So I wanted to make this video to show you a couple of these things to help you decide what you do. First of all, I will start from the controls. The levers, these are really the only thing I changed on the Grom Finora and it was just a matter of personal sensations. If you compare the levers on the Z, those in series are simply better. Those Groms are a little more scary. Here's why I replaced them with these aftermarket ones. Honestly, I probably wouldn't need to change those of the Z because they are already comfortable to make. Going down the level, I don't feel The Grom, Going down the Z 125, however, it's different immediately. This is comfortable. It's This is also a comfortable bike. I'm not saying I'll do a hundred kilometers with this little thing, but the Z will definitely win in terms of comfort from this point of view. Going down, the pedals are an arg The Z has these solid pedals. They are much higher than that. So, for the use on the track, to incline them, we really start to scratch the pedals on the Grom quite easily. They are about 2. 5 cm higher than the Z, which gives a more sporty feeling. They are mounted on rubber supports on the Grom, which offers a little more comfort, but a slightly vague feeling when you try to ride a sports bike. By the way, these handlebars on the Grom are mounted on rubber supports. And if they add something, they probably also add a little bit of comfort. When you are on the track or ride a really sporty bike, you can feel a little indeterminacy in the feeling of the handlebar. This is an advantage or disadvantage under certain aspects. The Z, on the other hand, is completely mounted rigidly on the brake pads. So for a more sporty bike, the Z wins. The rear shock absorber, on the Honda, is not adjustable at all. What you see is what you get. If you wanted to bring some changes to the preload, you should buy a new spring. The Z, on the other hand, has a certain preload regulation, so it is already a great victory right away. If you are a heavy rider, if you are a light rider, you can modify it a bit, based on your use, your driving style and your weight. This gives you much more possibility of regulation right away. The style is subjective, but I You already have sports mirrors. You have your standard circular mirrors. As far as the giant paraphras on the rear, they are both rather large, but I assure you that the Grom has a bigger and more massive thing on the rear. Now, in reality, there is a kind of hidden advantage in the Grom when you ride. It is really easy to remove this giant paraphras. There are four bolts that hold it in position and that are accessible just below the seat. I got used to driving it and that's it. I am lucky to live very close to a track for rallys and drive it directly to the track. I bring it there with a couple of straps, I pull the rear paraphras away. There is a small clip to take two threads, some threads to disconnect and, in practice, I pull the mirrors away and I am practically ready for the track. The Z is a bit more difficult to do. Dimensions of the tank. The tank of the gas tank on the Z is bigger. Now, here is a characteristic that is totally useless, but really nice to have if you have it. March gearbox indicator. The Kawasaki CELAR. The Honda NO. The Z, according to those of you, is a bit higher, but I am pretty low, so much to start with. I am 1. 63 meters high, 71 cm. Both of these bikes go to the big one. It is fantastic. And even if they are both ridiculously small bikes, there is something of the Z that is not as small as a bike and it is the ratcheted radius. There is much more space to turn, even if they have the same ratcheted angle to the right and to the left. And this is noticeable a lot when you move it in the garage or in a parking lot. As for the performance, they do not have, they are only 4-stroke cylinders of 125 cm3. They are not made for that, they are made to have fun, but recently I brought them to the local Go-Kart track to have fun a bit. And I have to say that the Z has seemed to me faster, but when I saw the film again, the Grom actually gave me a much faster gear driving these two one after the other. So the biggest problem with the Grom It has a very high gear. With the Z I managed to change gear in the short track configuration of the Go-Kart track and to change between the second and third gear. But with the Grom I literally remained in second gear for all the time. But the torque was rather consistent. It seemed to have to change gear on and down to stay high in the range of turns on the Z and this has been demonstrated by different dynamometric graphics available on the Internet. The fact is that changing gear is very fun. I really The Grom was actually faster. The Z seemed to me more Another consideration was the tires on the Grom. In reality I have these tires on the road Midas Mech 34. It is more adherent, but it is still able to go on the road. The bike is new to Zeca, so I still have the series tires that actually go quite well. The reason why I changed the tires on the Grom is because when I bought it, the previous owner had dual sport tires 50. 50. I used it as a kind of motorcycle on the road. In reality it is quite capable of going on the road. You put on some tassel tires and it becomes quite decent. This position of sitting more straight is enough to push you to be with the pedals as low and more forward. If you are quite straight and standing, it seems quite natural in reality. You can move forward and backward here. In reality it is not a bad platform for the off-road use on the Z. This is more a sporty bike to ride on the Z. It has series rear pedals. These pedals here are much higher, much more backward. When you sit on top, the riding position is a little more straight and aggressive. And standing is not comfortable at all. It is curved. It is not for this reason that this bike is made. In conclusion, I would say that this is a sporty bike even if it is a bit worn out. This is a fun and versatile bike. Do acrobatics. Put on some tassel tires. Take them off or put on series tires. Take them off the road. Do simply the furbys. With this you can do anything. The Kazakh Kawasaki is much more fun on the road, when you try to lower your knee and get a good angle of inclination. This does not mean that one of these two bikes can be modified to do better. In fact, the Grom will receive some modifications to make it more a track weapon. I will take the brake tubes worn out in stainless steel because the brakes are quite good, but they are a bit spongy for my tastes. In reality the Z is a much more precise braking result. I will take the lower handlebars. I will probably take the fixed handlebars. These will be replaced with real set pedals that do not break at the first accident. I am not yet down, but I have absolutely the intention of doing it because this will be my track bike, they will be more worn out and they will have a more aggressive position. And the most important thing, I will take a much lower transmission ratio on this scramb. So that's all guys. I love these bikes. Really, in conclusion, with none of these bikes you can make mistakes. You will have fun in the world, it doesn't matter what happens. So, I hope you learned something. I hope it was instructive and go pedal. See you out there.
