Harley-Davidson of Columbia Superstore - it is about the bikes and the people, after all You see, here's the deal about the New Harley-Davidson of Columbia Superstore. Opened January 16, 2009 halfway between Nashville TN and Huntsville AL in a 40,000 Square Foot Harley-Davidson dealership where business has been phenonimally great during that same time..(just braggin', but we sale ALOT of pre-owned Harley-Davidsons) H-D of Columbia opened their doors and since that time has had a GIANT Grand Opening Party featuring Country Superstars Montgomery Gentry for a FREE concert (bet you haven't been to a lot of FREE Montgomery Gentry concerts lately?). We have charity rides and concert where we helped raise over $1,000,000 Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, T.J. Martell Foundation and many other great area charities. We've held concert featuring country Superstars like Dierk's Bentley, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Darius Rucker and Jamey Johnson. Click HERE to see a photo gallery of our events. The great location with the central location on I-65 at Exit 46. The 40,000 square foot building with millions of dollars worth of motorcycles on display and available for purchase. The building being built with stone that was mined from the building site and lighted both inside and outside by natural light brought in from 4 skylights the size of swimming pools and almost 5000 square feet of glass. An unbeliveably helpful staff that are available 7 days a week to fufill your every Harley-Davidson need. You know, all of the basics. Back inside the building, the millions of dollars of motorcycles are on display among a 12,000 square foot showroom floor anchored by a 40 foot long, 15 foot high ramp made of re-claimed wood. This ramp both highlights what this showroom will be all about. We understand that the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle dealership part is unique to everyone. We were just trying to be a great H-D dealership open in. What we did is get it open, though many months overdue, and focused on New and Used Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Parts, Accessories and Clothing. What we hope you know is that those items you don't see may or may not make it a "Superstore" in your eyes, but FedEx and UPS run daily so if you come into the store and don't see something that you want, let us know and we'll try to get it for you ASAP. Continually upgrading the Harley-Davidson of Columbia Superstore is our goal, and we thank you for supporting us in this effort over the past many years. We only want you to think this place is great and have as much fun doing this Harley-Davidson thing as we do."

A Harley Davidson shop in Col News watch 16s Justin Gicks stopped by the shop to talk to the owners about their decision to close. Vreeland's Harley Davidson on Roodle 11 near Bloomsburg has called the area home since it opened its doors back in 1990. Rich Vreeland and his brother Ray have been behind the wheel of the dealership for more than 30 years. Rich says it all started in 1989 when he and Ray were on a cross country trip riding their Harley's from Central PA to Daytona Beach, Florida and then to San Diego, California. It was a 9700 mile ride and on that trip we started collecting Harley Davidson t-shirts at all the different dealerships along the way and we had quit our jobs to do this trip and were Let'see if we can open a Harley Davidson dealership. Although the brothers have enjoyed running the shop and helping others with their motorcycles, they feel Vreeland says this decision was 12 years in the making. Winters are tough in the Harley business. All our friends go away and they don't come back till March and we just decided that we didn't want to do another winter. So that's why September 30th just worked out perfect for us. Being in business for 35 years, motorcycles have gone through a lot of changes over the years. Vreeland says he'seen a lot of the bikes go from more classic designs to more modern bucks. They have evolved, they're so technologically advanced. They have digital screens and stuff and when we started were lucky if we had a speed ominer and a blinker. Vreeland says the one thing he and his brother will miss the most about running the shop is the relationships they have built with the customers over the years. Our mission statement was always to make motorcycling fun for everyone and so I hope we achieve that. The other thing, I just hope that people will remember us as a family owned business and we actually cared about our customers. Although it's going to be hard to turn the key one last time on September 30th, the Vreeland say there is so much more they are looking forward to in their future. Justin Geck, NewsWatch 16, Col
