Moxie's Ice Cream sells homemade ice cream in many unique and creative flavors, including Blue Moon, cajun flavors, and 6 different vanillas.
This is Moxie's 48th year! We make our own homemade ice cream with premium ingredients in many unique and creative flavors. We reach about 80 flavors in the middle of July! There is plenty of outdoor seating with a lovely atmosphere to enjoy your ice cream. For the kids (young and old), there are swings, large wooden toys (train, firetruck, tractor, etc.) to climb on, and outdoor toys (hula hoops, trucks, wagons, etc.). The third Sunday in July is National Ice Cream Day! We celebrate with a big event at Moxie's. In addition to maxing out the amount of ice cream flavors offered, we have free blue popcorn, chances to guess a mystery ice cream flavor, a bouncy house, the ice cream museum, and much more! We also celebrate many ice cream related holidays, like national Creamsicle Day or National Vanilla Day, with special deals on certain items. We open Mother's Day every year and close at the end of August or when the last batch of ice cream runs out. Hope to see you soon!
the s Larry Bren is scooping her way through the capital region to find the very best ice cream spots this week. She takes us to Wine and Skill in Rensselaer County where Moxies is serving up homemade ice cream in some unique flavors. It's a little chilly out today, but it's never too cold for ice cream. I'm here at Moxies in Wine and Skill and it's named after the owner's father, Mr. Moxie, because he's got a lot of it and so does their ice cream. So let's go inside and check it out. We got our boots. We got our apron. We got our hair and it. We got our hat. We're in the back room where the ice cream magic happens. You're with Pam and you're the owner here at Moxies. So tell me what we're doing here first. We're agitating the mix and I'm going to turn this. The mix is going to go from here down into the barrel. Okay. Then I'm going to add our secret ingredient. Secret ingredient. And then it's going to get cold and stay in the machine till it gets thick. Okay. That's when we get to taste it. I get to do the honors. I'm so honored. And you can just drift it upside down a little bit. That is a blue moon. That's blue. That's blue moon. How long does it need to stay in here to get to eight minutes? Eight minutes. The best part is we get to taste it. I'm drinking a sip of ice cream. You break it at this stage. It's not just a plain vanilla. There's I can't explain it. It's really delicious. I can't figure it out, but it is really delicious. So we have to come back in here. Go from the window. It's cold out there today. You would come to the window and get your ice cream here. That's what blue moon looks You want to scoop me up a sip of that? So it goes from this to this. And then this is going to go in my mouth. So let's go outside and check it out. So, Pam, before I go ahead and have the official version of blue moon, tell me what makes it so special and unique. Blue moon is just blue moon. It's a secret. It can be different to every person. So what do you taste? All right, so I'm going to try it. Now I'm going to see if I can really know the film. There definitely is some sort of That's what the other people say that. Maybe people say that. Or they'really just. Y Well, if you want to see what your taste buds find in this flavor here, this blue moon, come on down to Moxies in Wine and Skil. And that's my scoop.
