A local ice cream shop is scooping up some national recognition. Last week, Homesweet Cone and Wauke'i annual convention. The shop was up against ice cream makers from around the country but managed to impress the panel of judges in categories The owner of Homesweet Cone led us in on what makes their ice cream award winning. The FDA requires at least 10 percent butterfat to even call a product ice cream. The first has 16 percent so that's why it has a really nice dense feel when you eat it.
