Pitango serves artisanal gelato made with organic, grassfed milk and vegan sorbets made with organic fruit. No artificial flavors- just wholesome goodness.
Noah Dan, who spent his childhood in Trieste, Italy, founded Pitango in 2007 to re-create the pure and wholesome gelato of his youth. Still a family-owned business, Pitango now has five locations in DC, Maryland and Virginia. On a quest to find the best milk possible, Noah set up our own dairy on Pennsylvania’s Spring Wood Organic Farm—a pioneer in grass-fed, organic farming. We prepare gelato and sorbets on the farm to source milk from Spring Wood’s single herd, eggs from its free-range hens and fruit from local orchards. After flavors are blended on the farm, we churn every batch of gelato and sorbet on location in each of our shops to ensure peak freshness. The step of churning our products on site—and not in a factory—also enables us to bypass the need for chemicals, preservatives, stabilizers, colorings or flavorings. We think you’ll taste the difference.
It's a we're open double take. Alright, two types of treats, two different shops and all under the same name. Alright, up first let's go. We're getting breakfast and lunch. We're going over Potango Bakery Cafe. It's just off the Water and Fells Point right next door to the Pendry and the shop is going on six years now in business with a focus on authentic Italian breads, meats and cheeses. I like to think that, We have great food, we have great coffee, we have great focaccia. So And that's great. Now for dessert we go over to Potango's gelato store. Speaking your language. Yeah, what are we doing right next to the Fells Point Farmers Market? There you can get everything from your usual chocolate or vanilla to tangerine sobae. Ah, let's just stop it right there. But listen, a lot of stores need your help right now and we are shouting We're Open Baltimore for all the restaurants, all the stores that are saying We're Open Baltimore. Just head to our website, WMAR2News. com slash open.
