Kansha is the Japanese word for GRATITUDE. Kansha Creamery is James Tatsuya and Elaine Yukari's ice cream shop dedicated to the simple goodness of dessert and it's remarkable ability to bring people together. Everything is handmade with the utmost tlc by the brother and sister duo with ingredients coming from local, organic farmers whenever possible. When a purchase is made, a percentage of sales go to charities around the world such as Gospel for Asia and Children's Hunger Fund connecting all sorts of people together with a single scoop of vanilla. This was our first visit to Kansha Creamery but definitely not our last. Here's how it went. Kansha Creamery is a brother-sister duo that makes handmade ice cream. Kansha is the Japanese word for gratitude and we learned how this ice cream shop practices that. They offer scoops, parfaits, and floats. Some flavors change weekly so you can check on their website ahead of time to see what flavors they have. They said they're known for their matcha parfait and we didn't get to try it this time but we're going to try it on our next visit. The service was wonderful and they were so patient with explaining the menu to us as well as offering recommendations. Went with the pistachio ripple which is house-made pistachio butter, swirled in milk ice cream, and the hokey pokey which is honeycomb toffee in milk ice cream. I'm a big fan of honeycomb so I already knew that I'd I Aside from having delicious ice cream, Kansha Creamery is big on gratitude. 75 cents of every ice cream they sell goes towards helping resettling families in America. They are currently collecting donations until August 23rd to support day laborers in the South Bay. So basically this is an amazing family-owned business that serves incredible ice cream and the community. Be sure to check them out and support your local businesses.
