Conscious Creamery: Dairy-Free Gelato Production Kitchen Hi, I'm Andrea Seppinni, and we began Conscious Creamery, a craft dairy-free scoop gelato and gelato bar pop-up in Sacramento for a few very important reasons: First, we love the experience of savoring cool creamy gelato while strolling in the evening with friends, enjoying a local farmers' market or street festival or as a unique way to celebrate special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, art exhibit openings, etc. Second, for most people who can't or choose not to eat dairy and other animal products, there are few truly wonderful options. This brings me to another reason for beginning this gelato journey, my family's insistence that I share with others what I've been making for them for a long time, homemade dairy-free gelato using the freshest ingredients. I love the creativity making seasonal fresh flavors allows me, especially in the Sacramento Valley with such abundant local produce available year-round. At Conscious Creamery we're conscious about what we put in: seasonal fruit from local growers when available and other fair-trade, non-GMO, organic ingredients when possible to create delectable flavors. And, what we don't: no dairy, eggs, soy (except select stir-ins when clearly indicated), refined oils, fillers or artificial stabilizers or artificial flavors, ever. Also, our craft small-batch gelato is naturally free of gluten (excluding some cookies and cones, as indicated). Good day Sacramento. I'm this is Andrea, the brain behind conscious screen. And this is the beautiful dairy free gelato. How did this come to be? Well, we just started making gelato because we missed it ourselves. We all love gelato and we wanted to have something good to eat ourselves and figured a lot of other people wanted it too. And I think it's a great idea to make it for my family. And after a trip to Europe and seeing other people enjoy similar product, I said I know how to do it and came back worked on it for about a year and then that was the deal. I decided to make it myself. So how much is in this batch? This is a four quart batch. There's all the flavoring. This is blueberry and it's. Organic blueberries from Hidden Star Orchards, a calphor inga grower and they make some beautiful product. We use their stuff and it's gorgeous and it's delicious. We just sold our first batch using their blueberries at the farmers midtown farmers market this weekend and it was really a hit. So we take this out front so we could show folks the ingredients. We'd love to come with it. Okay, so as we said, everything here is made with all natural ingredients andrea did a beautiful job of setting up this little display. So she makes the milk quote unquote milk from cashews. So she soaks them overnight in pure unfiltered water, blends it all together and then makes that milk, blends it with the blueberries and then the sugar, right? That's right. Yeah, that's how it all comes together. It's a real simple recipe. There's no preservatives, no fillers, nothing. Okay, we didn't get to taste it now, but I'll taste it and let They also do they good. So stay with us. That's what we're going to talk about in this next hour.
