Happy Cow Creamery is the place to go when craving good, homemade ice cream made with love! It's Mooooovelous!!

12 and new this morning. Finding relief from that heat on a day Fast Carolina zone. My release is live in Greenville County to explain. Yes, we are at the happy cow creamery in Pelser, and it's all about keeping those cows happy, of course, because that will help keep the customers happy as well. Now joining us is Tom Trentham, the owner here. They don'that's we see you see more fans going in this barn here too. And this time of day where it's cool, they'll come out here and eat. As soon as they're done milking and they go outside, they go straight to the woods. They don't want to go out and graze, which we graze our cows year around. But so this time of year, they'll only go out and graze at night. So they'll just eat out of the trough here. Yes, we have some videos showing of little things you do to keep them cool. You have the fans going, you have a shade cloth, and there'some misting as well. Yes, yeah, there'sprinklers. We talked about where they turn on as temperatures rise. They'll kick in at about 80 degrees, and then as the temperature goes higher, they'll come on more often and run longer. It all runs off of thermostat by itself. And how is this affecting their milk production? They go down quite a bit when July and August get here, and it's 95 degrees every day. And you go up to, We'll lose 1,000 to 1,500 pounds of milk a day in loss. And one of the reasons is because they're not going out to graze the grass So the grass grazing is a very high protein diet that really makes a lot of milk and makes them happy. Yeah, so, Yes, yes. As long as it'so hot and we don't get rain, it doesn't grow well. So they miss out on a lot of their good diet. They still eat good, but in plenty, but they miss the flush grass that they graze on there in the s But for now, still a lot to enjoy over there at your store and the new edition of Ice Cream? Absolutely. We just started making ice cream back in April here on the farm. It's gone over quite well. We'll have to get something in a little bit. Thank you, Tom. Happy cows. Happy customers. That's what they're all about here at Happy Cow Creamery reporting live in Greenville County, My River Weas, Fox Carolina News.
