Since 1939, Nasto's "Old World" Desserts has produced the finest ice cream and frozen confections in the "new world." We serve the finest restaurants, hotels, caterers and institutions in the Metropolitan area.
Specializing in portion control ice cream and desserts, we offer many delectable temptations. Topping the list is our well renown Tartufo Gelato, followed by our regal (little queen) Reginetta, our espresso (pick-me-up) Tiramisu, our mouthwatering Fresh Fruit Sorbet (in the actual fruit skins or handy trays for scooping), and our oldest traditions, velvety smooth Spumoni and Bisque Tortoni. Family owned and operated, we are located in the historic Ironbound district of Newark, New Jersey. Here on our premises, our retail facility serves local residents with custom inscribed cakes, ice cream and dessert specialties.
Spamoni, Tartone, Tartuffo. While it's a garden state sweet spot, the frozen confections ship nationally. A success made possible by 86 year old Frank Nasto Jr. and his brother Alfons. Alfons passed away in May at 92 years old, making Frank's death seven months later on Christmas Day the end of an era in Newark. My father was a great man. He dedicated his entire life to work and his family. Frank Jr. son Frank III now runs the shop with his brother Dee. They are the third generation to run Nastos, still in its original location founded back in 1939 by Frank Sr. and Angelina, who used recipes from their homeland in Nocera, Italy. We always promised ourselves that we would make Mecca to Newark and come to the point of origin. We'd come to Nastos and we had the time to do it between Christmas and New Year's. Nastos is an iron bound landmark serving the community for 83 aunt, even the cameo in the Sopranos. They never really tired because this was his life. He tried to instill those old fashioned beliefs into me and I tried to follow in his footsteps but Ashley Rodriguez, Fox 5 News.
