The Scoop and Twist of Macomb is a great ice cream business located in the complex at the corner of 23 Mile Road and Card. It is under new ownership and they are excited to continue serving Macomb Township residents. We are thrilled. We opened July 29th of last year of 2017 and it has been just wonderful since then. We're anxious for the great weather and for spring and s But this has been a dream come true of being able to open our own ice cream shop. There are a few things that are really important to us. We wanted to keep everything Michigan made as much as we could. So Sanders, Fudgin, Carmel, Ashby's Ice Cream, Better Made Potato Chips, our Fagopoff, Verner's, things That was really important to us. We wanted to make sure we supported small businesses. So that was our first big goal I guess. Next we wanted to make sure we hired local kids that would just be super friendly and want to create memories for the kids and adults The building has been remodeled. It was a long process completing everything but well worth it. Macomb Township was a good experience to work with them. Everybody from inspectors and the trustees, they were very helpful. The inspectors, when they came down, they were friendly. They educated us on why we needed certain things the way we did. That was a great process and really pretty smooth. We had trustees that approved us. They were also extremely helpful. The Scoop and Twist of Macomb will work with Macomb Township Parks and Recreation this sale and Gina are working with us right now and we are going to run the concessions at Macomb Corners, which is super exciting. They really wanted to be able to provide that service for the community to have the soccer families, baseball families, even those that are there for San Valleball, to have food and beverage there. We'll be the concessionaire that is there. They've been just great. Really making sure that we are set up for success there. We'll be both at phase 1 and phase 2, so we'll be on both sides of that and I'm really excited for that opportunity. As for the menu, they have a lot to offer if you have that sweet tooth. We sell just a ton of hard scooped ice cream. We also offer frozen custard. It's a very, very small percentage of what we sell. People love the hard ice cream and our best flavor is Superman. That is the n Kids and adults a So, We have some specialty cones that we dip every morning, that we put chocolate and sprinkles on. Kids really love that as well. Staying with our Michigan-Made theme, a Sanders hot fudge sundae or hot fudge cream puff is always popular. A lot of people come in after dinner and We have Rupier Floats sell pretty well and Boston Coolers made with Verner's Pop and ice cream. That is also a really good seller. My message to the Macomb Township residents is to come in here and create a memory and that's really why we open this place. I think back to when I was a kid and the best memories I have revolve around ice cream. And it was just that every day, That was, I can remember that clearly as if it happened yesterday. And so I see kids coming in now, families coming in now, whether it's after a game, whether it is, That is, I love them create that everyday memory.
