Snowball season is here in Acadiana and most stands are trying to play catch up after a late start last year because of the pandemic. In tonight's rebound, our Kaley Norman spent some time today at Cajun snow, learning about their outlook ahead of this season. Kaley. Although it's a little chilly outside today, people are still lining up to get a snowball here at Cajun Snow and the owner tells us that they're very optimistic about this snowball season. When the pandemic began last March, many non essential businesses were forced to close their doors to the snow. The snow is still open with their drive through. They still struggled with adapting to the regulations. We had to pick up our picnic tables and closed down porch, which made the line very long and a longer wait time. We had fewer employees working inside being that we had to social distance. With the porch being closed, customers were unable to get the full experience of a traditional snowball stand. The kids love to play catch up. They're not going to be able to get a snowball stand. They're not going to be able to get a snowball stand. The kids love to get out and come look at the menu and see all the different flavors and watch us make the snowballs from the inside. They do love to stare at the window. But Halpen tells us that eventually they were able to adapt and did not lose business. In fact, they received an award on social media for the longest line worth waiting in during COVID-19 because of their efficiency in taking orders in the drive through line.
