We decided to take a ride down to Shadyside to visit Sub-Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream. I am here with the co-owner Donna Puglin. Great to be in here, Donna. Welcome. What is the process I mean, this is a unique ice cream experience here. It really is. So when you walk through our doors, you're in for a fun and unique experience with ice cream. So everything is made fresh here. There's nothing that's pre-made in our store. All fresh ice cream and it's made with liquid nitrogen. So you make the choices. We put in a bowl. We freeze it with liquid nitrogen and it makes a high quality, creamy dense ice cream. There's two ways you can order. One, we have 12 sensations. These sensations make the choices for you. You just pick one that you And so when we can guide you through all that when you come in. So I decided to go with the key lime voltage right under these sensations. I can't wait to try it. So how does the process work? So what you do is we have cream base as you can choose from and we have something for every diet really and we have lactose free, dairy free, sugar free choices, healthy choices. What you would do is you would pick your cream base. You pick the key lime voltage so we would put some flavoring. We put lime and cheesecake flavoring in there. And then we're going to add some cheesecake bites and Gr Oh, it's making me hungry already Donna. So it looks It's all of liquid when it's in the bowl. Now this is the process that I am curious about how this works. This is where they say where the magic happens right here. All right, so Lisa is mixing it up and then what happens? She's going to add some liquid nitrogen to the bowl. This is the liquid nitrogen. That is cool. So this is freezing at negative 321 degrees. The freezes it very fast. It's really cold and it's a creamy dense ice cream because there's little to no ice crystals at form and there's no air whipped into it from the freezing process. I've never seen anything And is this safe? Yes, we get that question often. There's nitrogen, it's almost all of our atmosphere, it's in our body. It's obviously not cold Because it is so cool people also ask what happens if it touches our skin. So I will show you. Yeah, it's very safe, very fun, makes delicious ice cream. This looks good. I can't wait to taste it. The great thing is you offer a lot of cool parties and events as well for people. We do, we do. So we can bring this all to you outside of our store. We do catering events, we've done holiday parties, street fairs, we've done school events with organizations that we give back, a donation, a percentage of our sales.
