Everybody screams for ice cream even during the winter, but many ice cream shops are closed until spring. But there's one that is open and it's different in a special way. Maybe your favorite ice cream shop serves up ice cream from a favorite ice cream company. Well at Furniture City Creamery, they make their own ice cream and that lets them be creative. Not just for seasonal flavors, but year round. We've been here eight Christmases, well the eight years in June. So the name Furniture City is When t Yeah, old fas We get a lot of questions about that. We make small batch ice cream. We make everyt We start with sugar, milk, heavy cream, eggs. We also make vegan ice cream so we start with sugar and coconut milk in that case. But it all starts out on the stove so we don't buy our mixes. So every flavor has its own recipe. So it allows us to do things We make the mixes that takes a day to three days in some cases and then we make the ice cream. In a lot of cases we're making the stuff that goes in the ice cream, not all the time, but that's where we change it up and we're adding We just have a new chocolate sheet cake so we made a chocolate sheet cake ice cream and then we made chocolate sheet cake and added that to it. We have to plug and play what we do with ingredients right now. We source them locally. We do as much as we can. You obviously see that we have 496 square feet so we don't have a lot of place to put them. So we get our cream and milk from Country Dairy. And the vegan is coconut milk. And that's one thing nice too is because we can be so reactive if we do see that people are wanting something or if they just missed it, Furniture City Creamery is at 958 Cherry Street, Southeastern Grand Rapids, just west of Diamond.
