take away from the overall look of your space. So if you don't have a frame tv that gives you that nice art finish, just go to youtube and search vintage art or art live streams. They have hours and hours of art displayed on the screen so you can really turn your tv into wall art. This will display that one art piece on your tv for hours. So it really is a great thing to do if you're having company over and you really want to bring your space together or make it look Now a go-to decor piece that I think everyone could use in their home to really elevate their styling is a pedestal or riser. These are perfect for creating dimension, height, and adding an extra layer of texture and color into your styling. Risers also act as a grounding point, almost So placing smaller items on your riser really helped to create a more put-together curated look without it looking too messy. So I always recommend using risers if you want to style any of your surfaces. You can also do the same thing on a larger scale with pedestals. Pedestals are such a great way of styling a space and really elevating and putting attention towards something special They're not totally necessary. They're not that functional piece, but they really are decorative and make for a wow factor. So bedrooms, sometimes strategically placing a small tiny art piece above the bed can look really intentional and actually really designer. It's kind of opposite of what you're told to do, but sometimes narrowing in on a small piece really makes for an impactful difference. So I highly recommend strategically looking for small art pieces It's more affordable. It's easy to find. You can thrift them. You can antique them. You can buy them brand new and really make a designer impact in your home. Now a fun DIY supply that I always Rub and Buff can instantly change the look, the finish, the style of a piece in your home and really give you a very realistic metallic finish. So Rub and Buff comes in so many different colors. They have gold leaf, which is stunning. They also have ebony, which is that dark black finish. They also have antique gold, which is my go to and they have silver leaf. So they are tiny, tiny bottles because a little goes a long way. You simply put it on your hardware and buff it in with a paper towel or a cloth. This gives you a very realistic metal finish and you can get this pack for such an affordable price. I usually get it on Amazon. It sold out a lot at Michael's. So I'll have this link down below in the description box. I recently used the antique gold on my console in my entryway. I got a new console table that came with hardware that was black and I really wanted the hardware to stand out on the piece so I could introduce more gold in our entryway. So I just simply Rub and Buff the hardware and it makes it pop and really makes it look realistic and a little bit more expensive. You can take a piece from silver to gold or black to silver in seconds. It's really, really quick. Definitely just use Rub and Buff before you go out and buy all new pieces unless you want to change the entire style of your piece. But this is really great for a budget friendly solution to just refresh your home. Instead of going out and getting a traditional coffee table or traditional side tables, think about using alternative pieces So think about using baskets that have lids instead of your traditional tables that will allow you to have extra storage and give you a little bit more of a unique look. If you use trunks for a really heavy substantial look, I love using unconventional furniture around the house to really get a unique style. So you can still keep all the functionality of a space, but really bring in those interesting unique items. This is really going to make a huge difference and set your space apart. In narrow spaces, I always recommend searching for a bench instead of a coffee table because that will really create more space in your home. Benches are not always marketed as coffee tables. So look towards those items that create that same height and give you that lengthening narrow look that will add a ton of functionality to your home and give you a really unique style. Now in a nice curated decorated space, sometimes the TV being a big black square can kind of take away from the overall look of your space. So if you don't have a frame TV that gives you that nice art finish, just go to YouTube and search vintage art or art live streams. They have hours and hours of art displayed on the screen. So you can really turn your TV into wall art. This will display that one art piece on your TV for hours. So it really is a great thing to do if you're having company over and you really want to bring your space together or make it look This is such a DIY easy free thing that you can do to really give you that designer look. I always recommend finding art that has darker colors in it if you're going to put it up on a screen so that you don't get that blue bright coming from a lot of the whites and the light colors. It will make it look a little bit more realistic. So if you have a mounted TV anywhere and you really want to make it look Now I always love a good console table. They are the perfect narrow piece for small areas So if you already have a console table in your home, always remember to actually style underneath it because console tables are very open underneath and styling underneath it really makes it look designer and finished and it just looks very thoughtful. So it's the perfect spot to style stools. If you're looking to create extra seating in your home or even by your entryway, having a quick little stool that you can pull out to put your shoes on is perfect and it's a great opportunity to add pattern color and different fabric options to really bring that entire space to life. It's also a great spot to add extra storage with large baskets. Baskets look amazing underneath a console table and it's always important to make sure that they're tall, large basket. You really have to get that scale and proportion right, but you can use a stool and a basket. You can double stools. You can double baskets. It really is the perfect spot to just add extra functionality in your space while also looking very stylish. So if you have any console tables around your home that are just decorated on top, think about styling underneath it. Now, let's talk paint colors. If you want to create a cohesive look around your home, you always want your paint colors to work well together and an easy way of doing that is just using your paint deck to your advantage. So if you Let'say a bedroom, but if you want to do your dining room and you also want to introduce a similar color, work your way down or up on the paint deck. All of the colors on this strip will be in the same tone. So they'really going to work well together without them looking So I love that you can go into deeper tones, into lighter tones, and really create a unique experience in each space, but they all really stay within the same family. This is a great color guideline to style your space with items that are within the same tone. Now a go to decor piece that I think everyone could use in their home to really elevate their styling is a pedestal or riser. These are perfect for creating dimension, height, and adding an extra layer of texture and color into your styling. Risers also act as a grounding point, almost So placing smaller items on your riser really helped to create a more put together curated look without it looking too messy. So if you want to take your space from looking kind of regular to designer, add a pedestal in, put something special on top So risers and pedestals are kind of within the same realm by really bringing height and attention to your smaller items. Now when I'm shopping around for decor, I'm always trying to pick items that I know will work in multiple rooms of my home. That's why keeping a cohesive color palette around the house really makes decorating easy, because when you're buying an item, I love shopping my home and moving things around and refreshing my space with items that I already have. And you can do this just by strategically picking items that will look good in any space. This could be a throw pillow, it could be an area rug, it could be a side chair. If you can easily move items from one room to another with your cohesive color palette, it will always make it easy to refresh your space. And this doesn't have to be just three different colors. This can be multiple neutrals, different shades of brown, different contrasting colors. You can bring in all of your accent colors, but just making sure that you repeat these colors throughout every room of your home will make it very easy to integrate and change up your existing decor. So if you want to swap things in and out, they will work with the color palette and it just makes decorating and refreshing your home super easy. And when you're choosing the lighting around your home, whether it be lamps or ceiling lights or pendant lights, always go bigger. You never want to go small and dinky with your lighting because it really is the thing that pulls your space together. Almost An area rug grounds what's down below all of your furniture and you want that area rug to be really large. Same thing goes with your ceiling. You want your light fixture to really sprawl across your ceiling, grab all the pieces below and make it feel If you have a small light fixture, it can really narrow in your space. So go with something larger. Large pendants always look better than small ones and large lamps always look better than small ones as well, especially if they're out on a surface Small lamps are perfect for All right, so that's it for today's home decorating styling tricks.
