Now with three brazen thieves continue targeting jewelry stores across Southern California. A business in Anaheim has been hit for the second time in two weeks. Police are investigating similar crimes at nearby jewelry stores. KTLA FIES Orange County Bureau Chief Chip Yoast has more now from Anaheim. Hello there. In recent weeks Anaheim police detectives have had their hands full investigating jewelry store robberies including two that happened at a store here in this shopping center just behind me. It happened again for the second week in a row. Don Roberto Jewelry on La Palma near Harbor was robbed. This one happened a little after three in the afternoon Tuesday when police say the thieves forced their way past a customer who was being let in. It took off, got away unfortunately in a green dodged charger, lasting westbound on a 91 freeway. I think there's about five or six but this is a boomer-safe. This is video from exactly a week earlier at just about the same time of day at the same store. From witness video it appeared that case involved at least eight thieves who made off with an unknown amount of jewelry. While five were caught and arrested in that case, others are still outstanding as is some of the stolen merchandise. This store was hit last week. This is two robberies in one week. In fact, I just went in there and they haven't even been able to fix the glass case that was destroyed last week. So they're dealing with two losses right now. In addition to the two Don Roberto Jewelry robberies, police are investigating similar recent cases at two other jewelry stores on Brookhurst including this one at Alamira Jewelry. In that case, the owner fired a gunshot that scared the would-be robbers off before they got in. Police have made some arrests in a couple of those cases but in each of those cases there are still outstanding suspects. In Anaheim, I'm Chip Yost, KTLA 5 News.
