Urban General Store

Hi, my name is Ann Cantrell. Welcome to Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We've been part of the community here for 10 years. We're excited to be part of the Brooklyn Microgrid and help preserve the energy within our own community. So we're an urban general store. People are always We took all the best of what you see in country general stores, but brought them to Brooklyn for city living and we offer a little bit of something for everybody. We love to support local makers here at Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store. We have diffusers and candles and lotions from them. Love being a part of bringing them into our community here. So we try to conserve energy here as much as possible at Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store. We have LED light bulbs and we run our air conditioner on a cycle so it only turns on when it needs to and just in general we try to do everything we can to cut down our bills and help the environment. What really intrigued me about the Brooklyn Microgrid is being able to conserve and preserve energy right here in our own community instead of going elsewhere. So we'really trying to harness everything that we can within power, energy, resources and keep it all within Park Slope Brooklyn. So I was really intrigued with this idea. I'm Ann Cantrell and I'm really excited to be part of the Brooklyn Microgrid and buy locally sourced renewable energy.
