The Himalayan Bazaar, a Fair Trade retail store, features a wide variety of gifts, jewelry, singing bowls, thangkas, statues, prayer flags, clothing and more from Nepal, Tibet and India. Our goal is to educate the community about culture, travel and adventure, to offer quality, hand crafted gift items that have both meaning and value and which are culturally and ecologically sensitive. We organize cultural events in our store and activities for our customers, including community treks around town, inspirational storytellers and cultural guest speakers. We also lead tours trekking in the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet & Bhutan twice a year. Our mission is to take you around the world and bring the world around to you.
I am Heather O'Neill, co-owner of the Himalayan Bazaar located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. At the Himalayan Bazaar we sell a wide range of handmade fair trade gifts including clothing, jewelry, shawls, singing bowls, Buddhist and Hindu art, artifacts, statues, yoga accessories and more. We buy directly from artisans, local people in Kathmandu and cooperatives set up to help women and children in Nepal. Through our travel company of Global Interest Adventure Travel, twice a year we organize and leave cultural tours and treks in the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.
