We use the cold process and add jersey milk in our soaps to create a lovely wash.
Our handmade bars use olive and coconut oils with accent butters like shea, kokum, and cocoa butters. The oils are mixed with precise amounts of lye in the cold-process method of soap making which was first described in the 1622 patent as, "the misterie, arte and means of making hard soape." We then add jersey cow's milk which is high in butter cream and gives the bar a creamy texture. The bars are then flavored with scented oils or exfoliants like ground oatmeal. The resulting bar is a far cry from big box soaps which can be more accurately described as compressed detergent bars.
