Hello, and welcome to Seagrain Design! I’m Rachel, and I live in San Diego, CA with my boyfriend and our two dogs. I’ve had a passion for woodworking, DIY projects, and crafting from a young age. I got my first workbench and tool set for my 5th Christmas, and helped my dad build a playhouse in our backyard shortly thereafter. I was also frequently found browsing through my mom’s Better Homes & Gardens magazines and Pottery Barn catalogs, dog-earing page after page of ideas for my “future home.” My handy nature and eye for design have instilled in me an attitude that “if I can’t buy exactly what I want, I can make it.” With a desire to update elements in the home I share with my boyfriend, and a need for more functional furniture, I designed and built a few custom pieces. Some DIY projects later, and Seagrain Design was born as a way to share these ideas. On the blog, you will find DIY project tutorials, decorating tips, behind-the-scenes peeks, inspiration, and more.
